Victorian projects for 2009 include 'Soldiers of the Raj'. At the English Heritage multi period show at Kelmarsh in 2008 I worked with Mike Trevor and his newly formed 'Skinners Horse ‘Gymkhana display. It was good, colourful and unusual with a brilliant display of horsemanship by the ladies. Whilst I have no wish to defend Imperialism or open that particular can of worms, the men and women who built the British Empire thoroughly deserve to be remembered and honoured as do the peoples whom they ruled.

As a small attempt to honour such people I offered to create an accompanying image of 'Queens Own Corps of Guides', Frontier fighters as opposed to Plains posers. Now that I have published such a commitment, I must do it.
