Napoleonic

Taken at Cosmeston Medieval Village near Cardiff, this is me on Uther as a Yeomanry Cavalry Trooper of the Castlemartin Troop of the Pembrokeshire Yeomanry.

This troop was part of the force which accepted the surrender of the French forces which landed at Fishguard in 1797, as such they were later awarded the Honorary Distinction (battle honour) of Fishguard and are the only British Regiment to have a battle honour awarded for service on British soil.

Uther appears a little shaggy and non regimental, but the Yeomanry were gentlemen and farmers who used their own horses and in February of 1797 I doubt that a Pembrokeshire farmer would have had his horse clipped out.
