In the very early 1970's I was a member of the Sealed Knot, in the days when we wore fireman's boots, plastic armour from the set of 'Cromwell', Velvet doublets and ladies handbags from jumble sales, painted black as ammunition pouches. Good fun, and the embryo of re-enactment today.

Standards have moved on since then, but I have not worn an English Civil War costume for 30 years. However, it is likely that we will be involved at an English Civil War siege this year, and I am looking forward to putting some images together.
